Saddle Brook Porcelain Veneers
Many people have a smile that is not exactly perfect, not horribly uneven or filled with gaps from missing teeth, but that just needs a little work to improve in appearance. Saddle Brook porcelain veneers are one popular solution to this kind of a smile. Veneers, such as those used by our EverSmile Dental practice are thin sheets of porcelain or a similar ceramic material that are used to cover the visible front of the teeth. These veneers have both a cosmetic and restorative usage. They have become very popular because they are less invasive, require less tooth preparation, easier to have installed and are less expensive than other cosmetic and restorative treatments such as crowns.
Saddle Brook porcelain veneers can be utilized to cover severely stained or discolored teeth, especially if one or several are particularly bad, or they can be used to brighten a whole row of teeth permanently instead of going through teeth bleaching. Veneers are also used by our doctor to cover chipped or pitted teeth and those with small holes or can be used to close up spaces between teeth. Our practice can use veneers as a fix for crooked or misshaped teeth. The veneers are fabricated from an impression that our doctor makes on your initial visit, during this visit the color for the veneers will also be chosen whether it is a match to the current tooth color or a lighter shade to cover discolored teeth. During a follow-up visit our doctor will try the veneer for size, fit and color. Once everything matches perfectly the veneer will be glued to the front of the tooth. The veneer will feel like a normal tooth and function normally as well. Porcelain veneers will last for 10 – 15 years and will not change color.
There are several advantages of veneers over crowns, the chief among them is that Saddle Brook porcelain veneers need little or no preparation of the tooth, so most of the time none of the original tooth is removed to place the veneer. Crowns can require a substantial amount of the tooth be removed. Veneers have become the cosmetic treatment of choice for many tooth appearance conditions because they are so non-invasive and last a very long time. Other cosmetic procedures such as bonding and bleaching can also be used to treat minor imperfections in teeth structure or repair cracks and flaws or whiten teeth but veneers are more durable and last longer than these other methods of restoration. See our doctor to find out if porcelain veneers may help spruce up your smile.
