Brushing and flossing your teeth and gums on a daily basis is essential to maintaining a healthy smile. A soft-bristled toothbrush should be used to brush your teeth for two minutes twice a day, as advised by the American Dental Association’s guidelines. Don’t forget to brush your teeth and gums gently and with a soft toothbrush to avoid damaging them. Using toothpaste that contains fluoride and has been approved by the American Dental Association will help you maintain a bright, healthy smile. Keep in mind to replace your toothbrush’s bristles every three months or when they become frayed.
To use a toothbrush:
Hold your toothbrush 45 degrees away from your gum line. Use short strokes to move your toothbrush back and forth while keeping this angle. Ensure that you brush the biting surfaces of the back teeth and the interior and exterior surfaces of the teeth.
Use up-and-down strokes while tilting your toothbrush vertically to clean the backs of the upper and lower front teeth.
To keep your mouth feeling clean and fresh, it’s a good idea to brush your tongue after your routine is finished.
