Dental Crowns and Caps in Saddle Brook, NJ

When Is a Crown Needed?

A crown covers and protects a tooth when decay, a cracked filling, a root canal, or grinding/clenching has damaged too much of the natural tooth structure for a filling alone to fix.

Crowns are also used to:

  • Anchor a dental bridge
  • Cover a dental implant
  • Protect a cracked tooth from further damage
  • Restore a severely discolored or stained tooth

Your smile plays a big role in your confidence and overall well-being. When a tooth is too damaged for a filling, a dental crown (also called a cap) restores its strength, function, and natural appearance — blending seamlessly with the rest of your smile.

What to Expect

Excellent doctor, friendly staff and very clean office. Dr. Estedrak is very detail oriented, knowledgeable and patient. She carefully listened to all of my complaints and performed all of the necessary dental work right on the spot. Had a great experience during my dentist visit! Cleaning was quick & easy. Both Staff and Dentist were very friendly and reassuring. Had some fillings done too but completely painless. The doctor explained every thing and answered any questions I had. I would recommend! Parking is in the back though since I got confused on my 1st visit so keep that in mind.

I have been going to Dr. Maryz ever since she opened this office based on a recommendation of a friend. It was the best decision I made. I have full confidence in her ability to diagnose and treat me in the best way possible. I had an implant placed by her in September and I am getting my crown on my implant next week. The process has been extremely smooth. Highly recommended. You won’t regret seeing Dr. Maryz

With proper care, crowns typically last 10–15 years or longer, depending on the material and your oral hygiene habits.

The procedure is done under local anesthesia, so you shouldn’t feel pain. Some mild sensitivity is normal for a few days afterward.

Most crowns require two visits — one to prepare the tooth and take impressions, and a second to place the final crown. Same-day crowns may be available depending on your case.

Yes. We select the shade, shape, and material based on your surrounding teeth for a natural, seamless look.

crown covers the entire tooth for structural support, while a veneer covers only the front surface and is typically used for cosmetic improvements.

Many dental insurance plans cover crowns, at least partially, when they’re deemed medically necessary. Our team can help verify your benefits before treatment.

Brush and floss normally, and avoid biting down on very hard foods like ice or hard candy, which can chip or crack the crown.

Often, yes. Root canal-treated teeth can become brittle over time, and a crown helps protect the tooth from cracking or breaking.
